Large Group Visits at The Planted Hoof
If you would like to bring a group of 7 people or more, please see below for full details. We are happy to host larger parties such as girl scout troops, homeschool co-ops, large families, business retreats and small events such as birthday parties or showers. All large group visits must be communicated via email, this type of booking is not available on our booking calendar. Click the link below to inquire.
Please note: we do not allow alcohol or decorations for 60 minute events. We do not have an area with heat/AC for seating, so please dress for the weather.
Visiting with a group of 7-25 people will be between $90-$250 for a one hour time slot depending on the number of people. Each additional hour is $100. We require that all children under the age of 16 be directly supervised by an adult. It is requested that one adult is present for every 2-3 children for proper supervision.
We have the ability to brush up to two cows at one time under our pavilion, so group visits larger than 10 people for one hour will be split in half: 30 minutes for cow brushing and interaction, 30 minutes for our cow craft station or other activity. Both of these activities happen in the same area under the event pavilion, so your group will stay together. Events that are 2-3 hours long have the ability to add additional activities you provide.
Large Group Visits at The Planted Hoof (7-25 people for 1-3 hours)
Cow Station - 30 minutes
Half of your first hour visit (30 minutes) will be hands on with up to two of our fluffy pals. You will be able to learn about the breed, meet our cows, brush them and take photos.
Each session is led by a first generation farmer, Seth or Amy, who will help educate you on cattle care, information about the breed (Highlands and crosses), share about our farm and answer your questions!
Liability waivers are required for each family. Please request this ahead of time if parents of every child will not be attending the day of.
Craft Station - 30 minutes
You may choose from either a Highland cow ornament or magnet for your entire group’s craft ahead of time so that appropriate supplies and instructions can be prepared. The craft station is part of your first hour. Price depends on the number of people in your group. Craft can be optional if your group is 10 or under.
Upon arrival we will split your group in half if it is over 10 people to make sure we are not overwhelming the cows with too many people. We will have up to two young cows to brush at one time.
Not all guests have to complete the craft (you’re welcome to relax at our picnic tables or feed the rest of the herd through the fence), but know that we can only have so many people hands on with the cows at one time.

Extended events (2-3 hours)
